IDPs have been resettled in on more new building

Koba Subeliani, Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia continues visits to settlements of IDPs in Imereti region. 24 IDP families are residing in former kindergarten building on Nikea Street in Kutaisi. IDPs were resettled in this newly rehabilitated building from different collective centers. Koba Subeliani informed them that they will become owners of their current living spaces

The Minister Koba Subeliani: “Everyone can see that the building is fully rehabilitated. Individual electric meters have been installed, roofing works have been carried out, metal-plastic doors and windows have been installed, the toilets were tiled and the most importantly the living spaces are intended to be transferred in IDPs’ ownership. The President’s statement that “all IDPs should have worthy living conditions before returning to Abkhazia”- is being implemented. And these activities will take place until all IDPs live in worthy conditions.

IDPs declare that their current living conditions are much better than the previous one.” We were living in a small room in the Hotel “Tbilisi”, we have suffered so much due to lack of space and other social problems as well, now we are satisfied with a living space and conditions. The quality of rehabilitation is high, besides we were told that the building would be provided with natural gas supply. So we are very grateful for the assistance rendered to us”- mentioned IDP from Abkhazia Khatuna Shubitidze.

The minister keeps on meetings with IDPs. During the current week Subeliani pays visits to the rest of IDP settlements.
