IDPs will get property in Marneuli

The Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani together with the governor of the president Davit Kirkitadze held a meeting with the IDPs residing in Marneuli. The main problem for 83 IDP families residing in the former area of military city in Marneuli was legalization of their living spaces.

IDPs were promised by the Minister that the legalization process will be started from the next week and IDPs will get property certificates within two weeks. IDPs were promised that the process will be commenced that will be finished within two months period.

“The only request to the minister at the present moment is that the living spaces that were occupied by the IDPs from Abkhazia to be transferred to IDPs ownership. We were happy that the minister visited us personally and informed us regarding legalization process. We have been living in this building for more than 10 years and we are willing to have our own property. We are very grateful.”

The following activities were carried out in the mentioned buildings: roofing activities, sewerage system was repaired, stadium was arranged and road was repaired.

oba Subeliani stated during the meeting with the IDPs that on the basis of the President’s order IDPs’ living condition is improving and we plan to continue the same way until we provide all the IDPs with the normal and worthy conditions: “As you are aware roof was repaired, water supply &sewerage system was fixed and the living spaces will be transferred to IDPs ownership. They should not be afraid that somebody will settle them out from the building. Our president’s orders are implemented. In some cases the process becomes long-term but each activity is implemented and IDPs’ living conditions are improving on a daily basis.”
