IDP children will be granted with the laptops

On April 14, 2010 on mother language day the winners of a calligraphy competition were revealed in the manuscript national centre; the winners were granted with the presents.  IDP winner children were awarded with the personal computers by the minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani.

IDPs were provided with the medical examination in Koda 

IDPs residing in Koda will get free medical service. Fully equipped mobile group of doctors visited the medical centre that was established for the IDPs. The doctors are conducting all kinds of medical examinations for IDPs. The Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani and the representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare   attended the activity.Medical examination includes diagnostics, portable diagnostics, ultrasound, cardiograph, etc. In addition, IDPs will get the medications free of charge. Qurta hospital team provides service to IDPs.

As the Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani declared during the meeting with the IDPs the same activities will be conducted in other IDP settlements: “IDPs from Kodori and Didi and Patara Liakhvi used to live in Koda. As you see, we provide them with free medical examination and medications.  The most important is that this is the fourth time we have conducted above mentioned activity and free medical examinations will take place in other IDP settlements.”IDPs declare that they cannot afford to do medical examination and the mobile medical groups provide them with great assistance.Eliko Beruashvili, IDP: “Medical examinations are conducted on a regular basis and we appreciate it. We even get medications for free of charge. We are very grateful. I regularly use medications and I do not spend money for it. I was operated twice in Qurta hospital and I am very grateful for the service personnel provided me with.”450 IDP families, about 2000 persons from Didi and Patara liakhvi and Kodori live in Koda. Free medical examination was mostly required by the elder people.

    The “Transparency International – Georgia” that is a member of an Advisory Council of the Coalition “for IDPs rights”, has implemented monitoring in 14 places of the compact settlement of IDPs, who were forced to leave their homes during the war in August.
