IDP children will be granted with the laptops

On April 14, 2010 on mother language day the winners of a calligraphy competition were revealed in the manuscript national centre; the winners were granted with the presents.  IDP winner children were awarded with the personal computers by the minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani.

September-November 2008

Project:“Program of psychological rehabilitation for IDP women”
Supporting organization: URGENT ACTION  FUND
Summary of the project: The project aimed at rendering psychological consultation to IDP women and their involvement in peace processes. The action at the cemetery of Unknown Soldier was held and it was stated that a real peaceful movement should be established.
   
September-November 2008

Project: “Internship Program for IDP girls”
Supporting organization: “Women Fund in Georgia”
Summary of the project: The project aimed at internship of IDP girls in leading NGOs. 20 IDP girls participated in the project. 


Project: “Youth Parliament in Tskhinvali region “
Supporting organization: “Open Society Georgia” Foundation.
Summary of the project: Aim of the project was development of Youth policy in Tskhinvali Region. Within frameworks of the project 36 young people from different villages were selected, they were trained in different cases, as structure of Parliament, lobbing, project writing and e.t.c.


May 2008

Project: “Women for defending their votes”
Supporting organization: Women Fund in Georgia
Summary of the project: Aim of the project was to support women, living in Tskhinvali conflict zone, in defending their votes and to make them more active in election process. Within frameworks of the project women observers were trained, who were observing election process in different villages for fare elections and for defending their rights.

Project: “Social-economical research of land mine victims” 
Supporting organization: GENEVA CALL
Summary of the project: The project aimed at research of problems and social-economic conditions of victims of land mines in Tskhinvali conflict zone.  

Years 2006-2007

Project: “The way towards bright future”
Supporting organization: “Open Society - Georgia” Foundation
Summary of the project: The project aimed at supporting NGOs in the region, material and financial support of civil initiatives and communities for development of the civil society. In the village Pkhvenisi in the office of the “Bridge of Friendship: “Kartlosi” the internet library and Sunday school were founded.


Year 2007

Action: “We want Peace”
Supporting organization: Helsinki CAGC
Summary of the action: Aim of the action was to exhibit children’s paintings on the theme of war. 
 
Year 2006

Action: “Help 11 years old Tornike”
Summary of the action: A refugee poor woman from Tskhinvali living in the hotel “Kartli” in Gori appealed to the nongovernmental organization “Bridge of Friendship “Kartlosi” and asked help for her 11 year old Tornike Jokhadze. He needed an urgent operation on backbone (lipoma) but mother couldn’t afford it because of poor social status. To solve this problem the “Bridge of Friendship: “Kartlosi” held an SMS action “help 11 year old Tornike”. The action was carried out via mobile number 15-85. Within framework of the action the “Kartlosi” also held some meetings with different organizations; it addressed a head doctor of the hospital of oncology in Tbilisi. After long negotiations and consultations Tornike had a free operation in the hospital of oncology in Tbilisi on April 6, 2007. The whole sum from SMS was given to Tornike for his rehabilitation.

Year 2007

Action: “We want peace”
Summary of the action: Nongovernmental organization the “Bridge of Friendship: “Kartlosi” held a drawing competition with participation of pupils from Tskhinvali region as well as from Ossetian schools of the village Areshferan and Akhalgori. (01.06.07) the action was supported by the Helsinki Citizens Assembly Georgian National Committee.

Year 2007

Sport competition in Georgian wrestling - “Cup of Kartlosi” 
The competition was arranged with the initiative of NGO “Bridge of Friendship “Kartlosi”. Famous sportsmen from different regions of Georgia participated in the competition. The event was supported by Georgian Wrestling Federation in Georgia, the newspaper “World Sport”, radio “Fortuna”. The hotel “Ambassador” was main sponsor of the competition.

Round Table: “The role of mass media in resolution of the conflict” with participation of representatives of local mass media and nongovernmental organizations.

Intellectual quiz “What? Where? When?”: The game was carried out with the support of the Georgian National Committee of Helsinki citizens’ Assembly. Young people from Tskhinvali region participated in the game. As a result an intellectual group named “Kartlosi” was founded.

Charity action “One for all, all for one”

The main goal of the action was to provide libraries in schools, initiative groups and nongovernmental organizations with books and stationary. The action was supported by different publishing houses, Tbilisi libraries, different nongovernmental organizations, representatives of private companies.

Share “Let’s present joy to women” 

On March 8, nongovernmental organization the “Bridge of Friendship “Kartlosi” congratulated women residing in the conflict region with International Women’s Day and presented them with flowers and symbolical prizes.  There were many smiles on faces and much joy in the eyes of women and children during that day; it was especially valuable for the residents of Kartli, in fact, attention to their problems as for a long time nobody   from local or central authorities or international organizations paid any attention to them. At the same time folklore group “Amagleba” from Tbilisi participated in the action. The action was supported by the  “Women fund in Georgia”, “Women’s Information Centre”, winery “Bagrationi”, perfumery  “Lutetcia”, the company “PSP”, the magazine “Cosmopolitan”.

 


  • Monitoring by “Transparency International – Georgia”

    The “Transparency International – Georgia” that is a member of an Advisory Council of the Coalition “for IDPs rights”, has implemented monitoring in 14 places of the compact settlement of IDPs, who were forced to leave their homes during the war in August.
